On The Manistee River

When you want to fish the river where the big fish live, you fish the Manistee River with Professional Manistee River Fishing Guides
Just ask Manistee Charter Boat Captain Paul Schlafley.
“The Manistee River runs approximately 232 miles through Michigan’s northern lower peninsula. It passes through many villages before entering Lake Michigan at the city of Manistee.” As one of the most popular Manistee River Guides and a true local who grew up on the river, Captain Schlafley knows the habitats and habits for all the seasons on the Manistee.
There are a lot of different and very large growing species of fish that thrive in these waters due to the rocky bottom and fast-moving cool water. I love to take guests on our Manistee River Charter Boats to the calm pools and other perfect habitats for catching the season’s most active fish.”

What you’ll
Catch

Species include, Wild Rose, Seeforellen brown trout, and Gilchrist Creek browns, Michigan strain Chinook, (natural reproduction), as well as migratory kings, Coho Salmon, Eagle Lake Rainbows, Skamania and the Michigan strain of Steelhead trout.

Love my nomads

BOGGS might want to give them a Try Snyders

Any frog toggs I've ever had didn't last. I'll never by the brand again.

Huk better than xtra tuff for sure

I'm on my 3rd season with huks. Fine so far

Say your rich without saying your rich haha

I've been using my sitka ones so far this season its crazy how light they are

Grundens

Haven’t had the best experiences myself Sims and grunden were both way too big and bulky extra toughs are absolute junk. Best I found are hiseas from Amazon going on the third season strong!

Grundens 3 seasons. No leaks or splits. Manufacturer’s specify coating with a product by gear aid to prevent surface cracking. Easy to do and prevents breakdown

I have the Sitka Rover leather version. I like the extra structure and foot support versus the Lacrosse rubber deck boots. I think you’ll be happy with those ones for running in the warmer weather.

I prefer Tony lamas 🤪

Ive owned 6 different big name brands. They all ended up cracking and leaking with-in a few months. Grudens are probably the top ones. My Simms are great cause they are not a flat sole but after a year and a half they have cracked and are leaking. If I were to pick a company it would be Grudens all day

Grundens are the best I’ve found. Mine are in season 2, other brands mentioned here I got weeks out of. Have not tried Sitka, although I do own their hunting lineup and I have zero complaints.

Pelagic and grundens make a great deck boot. Going on 2 season's with Mt current grundens. I typically go through 1 set a year

I’ve had the same pair of muck deck boots for a few years with great luck

I still wear steel toe, Goretex hiking boots on the boat. I had a clumsy client crush my toe once. They are probably 20 years old and still in great shape. I bought them through Cabelas.

I have HUK deck boots they are going on 3 years no leaks somehow. They’re beattt, I’ve used them wet wading in the summer and everything 🤣 they use to be camo

Ive had Columbia PFG Dry Tortugas Boot for over 2 years and and they have been awesome! If you look at how they are designed they have a great insole and ive worn for extremely long periods and my feet never hurt. Derek runs Huks and never had an issue.

I’ve had good results with the Huk deck boot. Been good so far.

True Dave for the money. Haven't had a problem yet.. but not using daily?

Grundens 2 trips. Something poked a hole in the toe on deck. Fired!

Riverside Charters I have these same boots. Absorbing water after having them for one week. But for the price I won’t complain and lighter than rubber. I’ve given up on a good pair of work boots

Grundens didn’t last a year

Amazon LFH boots haven't had a problem yet a little over a year

Pretty sure i fished just inside of you today. Nice box! I was out trying to figure the lake out for tight lines.

This would have been fun to watch.

Lot of silver !!

At least you had an engine! With our best!

Good to see a box a fish like that 👌

Tight lines is pretty cool event if you got the day open. I volunteer and help get vets on the boats in the morning.
