Captain Paul Schlafley has over 40 years experience fishing lake Michigan. Paul is a native to the Manistee area. Having been raised right on the Manistee River channel, his parents owned Riverside Motel & Marina and then Paul bought it from his folks and ran it for 10 years. Paul has a lifetime of fishing experience. Ludington Michigan Tournament Winner. As a boy, he was a fishing fanatic, you would always find him fishing the piers at Manistee or traversing the shores of the Manistee River.

I go to Costa Rica for the month of February. Unfortunately the fishing out of Garza was slow this year so I won't recommend it. I did have 2 friends who went to Golfito at different times and on different boats and smoked them a few weeks back. If you go to the Jaco area I can recommend a charter also. Depending when you go message me and I can help with a few things that come up while I travel and go to CR. It's an amazing place. Let us know what location you pick and maybe we have some advise on charters, restaurants and places to stay.

Me and Mike Steffs went we stayed at Casa Verda in Quepos great accommodations we fished 3 1/2 days off shore and one day inshore i booked it through Costa Rica Vacations they handled everything perfectly from our pick up at the airport to booking or charters to taxi services where ever we went i highly recommend Costa Rica Vacations one of if not the best trips i’ve ever been on and the fishing was insane raised over 35 Sails landed 26 and a handful of mahi-mahi had a bunch of wahoo on couple tuna and a bunch of different fish inshore. The only thing we didn’t catch that we wanted was a rooster fish, but I don’t think we were prime time for that if you have any specific questions, Paul you can always hit me up on messenger. What are you ganna fish for?
Jim Grandt owner of Grandt Rods and part of the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame goes down there with a group every year after the winter shows. He has a huge booth at the Grand Rapids Sport Show going on this weekend, he'll talk to you about it.

My clients/ friends are the best! Thank you for being loyal and choosing me for your charter fishing needs. Had a great time with your group! We are getting ready to switch gears and change over to the Hewes craft for some Spring browns here soon. Got a final inspection on Friday and then it’s game on. We are booked up for the rest of the month, expect this Sunday, the group had two days booked and cancelled one. 🤷♀️ due to the weather.
