On The Manistee River

When you want to fish the river where the big fish live, you fish the Manistee River with Professional Manistee River Fishing Guides
Just ask Manistee Charter Boat Captain Paul Schlafley.
“The Manistee River runs approximately 232 miles through Michigan’s northern lower peninsula. It passes through many villages before entering Lake Michigan at the city of Manistee.” As one of the most popular Manistee River Guides and a true local who grew up on the river, Captain Schlafley knows the habitats and habits for all the seasons on the Manistee.
There are a lot of different and very large growing species of fish that thrive in these waters due to the rocky bottom and fast-moving cool water. I love to take guests on our Manistee River Charter Boats to the calm pools and other perfect habitats for catching the season’s most active fish.”

What you’ll
Catch

Species include, Wild Rose, Seeforellen brown trout, and Gilchrist Creek browns, Michigan strain Chinook, (natural reproduction), as well as migratory kings, Coho Salmon, Eagle Lake Rainbows, Skamania and the Michigan strain of Steelhead trout.

Fishing has been fairly good when we can get out. We have already had several days we had to cancel due to weather, and by that I mean winds, not cold. Hopefully it will straighten out after this month. Everything seems to be a few weeks behind. Some really nice sized trout around, even though we have not targeted them. ... See MoreSee Less

This post makes it seem like you actually know what you’re doing. Imagine that. 🙂

Be patient and kind with your charter captains. These guys have a tough job and the weather changes by the minute. Wave reports mean nothing. There can be a small craft advisory with 1’ waves or a 1-2 foot wave report with 5-8s. These guys and gals work their tails off to show clients a good time on the water. They care more about putting fish in the box than you do. They don’t do it for the money, they love to fish. If they didn’t they wouldn’t last long in this game!

U da man Paulie!!! And your the awesomeness Amster !!

GREAT CAPTAIN!!!!

As usual
